How to Install sound card driver software on MS Windows 7
Before installing a sound card, we should consider the information that came with sound card manufacture guidelines and the sound card driver details. And more the sound card documentation should determine specific information to installing that card. Also, be sure to check the compatible with the computer.
To installing a sound card and drivers we will need the following details
• An empty PCI slot inside computer, unless plan to replace an existing sound card (in which case we can put the new card into that slot)
If the sound card came with a CD, DVD, or other removable media, it might contain a driver for the sound card. Hold on to that until Windows has finished looking for and installing a driver. Windows does this automatically after install the sound card in the computer and turn the computer back on. If Windows can't find driver for sound card, then we should try to install the driver that came with the sound card. Those drivers came with manufacturer programs.
1. First of all we should read the instructions that came with the new sound card to learn how to install it.
2. Computer should have an empty expansion slot.
3. Now we need to place the sound card on top of the slot. So now line up the pins on the sound card with the slot and push the card down so that it sits in the slot.
4. There is an important reason that should consider the card is pushed all the way in and that it's secure. If the pins on the card aren't perfectly aligned with the pins in the expansion slot, the card won't work properly.
5. If there is an audio cable that connects the CD drive directly to the sound card we need to plug it into the card. And also need to check the information that came with sound card to consider the place of the CD audio connector on the card.
6. And now we screw the sound card to the frame. In this case we should care about that we don't bend the sound card or the frame
7. Close the computer case and replace all screws that removed when opening the case.
8. Plug speakers into new sound card.
9. Plug computer back into its power source and then turn it on.
10. Then MS Windows will install the necessary drivers for new sound card. If sound card came with a disc containing software, we should install that now. We need to check installation guide that came with sound card.
Most sound cards have one line-out jack to connect speakers and a line-in jack to connect an audio input device.
