Activate 2-Step Verification To Enhance Google Sign In Security
Google has launched an advanced sign-in security which requires users to have two-step verification before accessing their Google account. This 2-step or two-factor verification approach will provide Google users with better security compared to the single password protection of their system.
Those two factors are:
Your password (just like always)
A single-use verification code that Google sends to your phone in one of two ways:
1) via SMS
2) through a voice call
Step 01 - Click the Settings gear in Gmail
Step 02 - Select "Settings"
Step 03 - Go to the "Accounts and Import" tab
Step 04 - Click "Other Google Account settings"
Step 05 - Find "2-Step Verification" and turn it on
Step 06 - Click "Start setup"
Step 07 - Enter your Gmail password and click "Sign in"
Step 08 - Click "Start setup" under 2-step verification.
Step 09 - Enter your phone number and Select Text message (SMS) or voice call then click "Next"
Sept 10 - Type the numerical Google verification code you received under Code then click "Next"
Step 11 - Click "Confirm"
