This article describes how to protect specific directories with a password. You can password protect your cpanel directories (folders) then the  visitor will need to provide the proper username and password to log in and view the contents of the folder This can add an extra layer of protection to files you don’t want the general public to have access



Follow these steps

Log in to Cpanel > Password Protected Directories

Select your domain from the popup window

Select the folder that you want to protect

Tick the password protect this directory checkbox
Name the protected directory
Click "Save" Button

Access permission has been set
Click "Go Back" Button

Set the Username and Password
click "Add/modify authorized user" button

Username and password have been set
